The first classic of the season takes place tomorrow; the 2,000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket.
The colt’s classic was first run in 1809 and won by Wizard
John Gosden’s Too Darn Hot & Calyx are no longer running, meaning it’s now much more of an open race for this year’s 19-runner field!
Now leading the market is A P O’Brien’s duo; Magna Grecia (ridden by Donnacha O’Brien ) & the unbeaten Ten Sovereigns (ridden by Ryan Moore )
If O’Brien scores in this race, it will boost his record to 10 wins in the 2,000 Guineas, with his first success in 1998 with King of Kings.
