The Sprint Cup - Haydock

Lester Piggott is returning to Haydock Park tomorrow, 70 years after his first ever win, which was at the racecourse when he was just 12 years old. Haydock are commemorating Piggott’s numerous victories at the track and record number of Sprint Cup winners by naming the fourth race of the day after the jockey.

With 5,300 winners and receiving the Champion Jockey title eleven times within his career, both Sir AP McCoy and Josephine Gordon have hailed Lester Piggott as a sporting legend with incomparable accomplishments.
